about

Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767) was a contemporary of Domenico Scarlatti and Johann Sebastian Bach, and a lifelong friend of George Frideric Handel. While today Bach is thought of as the greater composer, Telemann was the more widely celebrated musician in his lifetime. They are perfect canons: The accompaniment voice is an exact replica of the lead voice, trailing it by a specified number of beats. Each 3-movement sonata follows a fast-slow-fast format - this is the last fast movement.
